About Dr. Marc Bennett
Dr. Marc Bennett, MD, FACS, is Professor and serves as the assistant fellowship director for the neurotology fellowship within the Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He is also the executive medical director for safety for VUMC and serves on the safety team and oversees many of the external reporting mechanisms for the hospital. He specializes in Otology and Neurotology. He completed his undergraduate education at Emory University (Phi Beta Kappa), medical school at Johns Hopkins, residency training at Johns Hopkins, and fellowship training in Otology and Neurotology at the Otology Group at Vanderbilt.
Dr. Bennett is actively involved in initiatives to improve patient care including reducing mortality, reducing length of stay, and evaluating patient satisfaction. He is engaged in a number of research projects focused on acoustic neuroma outcomes, mortality measures in otolaryngology, hearing outcomes with cochlear implants, endoscopic ear surgery, and cholesteatoma outcomes. He has authored or co-authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications/ book chapters. His areas of expertise include cholesteatoma, cochlear implant evaluation and therapy, and otolaryngology.
