About Dr. Bhavya Shah
Bhavya R. Shah, M.D., is an Associate Professor of Radiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center, and a member of its Neuroradiology Division. He holds a secondary appointment as Associate Professor of Neurosurgery, the Advanced Imaging Research Center, and the Center for Alzheimer's and Neurodegenerative Diseases. He is also the Director of the Transcranial-Focused Ultrasound Lab.
After receiving his bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, Dr. Shah earned his medical degree at the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia. He completed his residency training at Boston University Medical Center and then received advanced training through a two-year National Institutes of Health-funded T-32 fellowship program at Stanford University School of Medicine during which time he also completed a biomedical device innovation program. He subsequently completed a fellowship program in neuroradiology at the University of Chicago Medical Center in Chicago.
Dr. Shah’s primary clinical and research interests are the application of transcranial focused ultrasound (FUS) for the treatment of neurologic and psychiatric disease.
